Well my computer was on the blink again. And , again, it gave me more time to spend with the Lord and more time to get some things done that I have been putting off............While I have been doing the housework, I have been listening to a tape of a preacher from the Bahamas named Myles Munroe....one of his messages was about the Holy Spirit and He made some really great points...........I wish you all could / would listen to them because I think he has hit on the answer to many of your questions..........He states that "the Holy Spirit is the most important "person" in the world today. There was a lot of "God talk" here in America for a while "God Bless America" ....and now the Passion movie has brought the name of Jesus up front on a daily basis.......but we are still missing "it" if we don't realize who the Holy Spirit is and what He does.......Some of us (like me :-/) kind of "stumbled on" this realization ..(although I guess it wasn't as much of a "stumble" as I think - God has a plan in the way things happen)....But it is neat to hear a bible scholar teach things that you just knew without the teaching.....(and you don't feel so crazy either :-).......He said that it is sad that most people of the world don't understand the Holy Spirit, but what is more sad it that many of the church fellowships don't either.....so it is no wonder the church is in such a sorry state today...........He said that the Holy Spirit is more than a name we tack on at the end of a prayer along with the Father and the Son.......They (the Father and Son) are not here.....He (the Holy Spirit) is here with us to comfort , instruct, give discernment and insight, and to empower us.......He is the part of the Godhead that interacts with us here on Earth. ...God and Jesus are in Heaven (wherever that is).....and they speak through the Spirit.......to us ...if we are open to listening..........I am sad when so many of you say to me, "I tried to find God, but so far nothing!"....."I've asked Jesus into my heart. It doesn't work!".........."I pray, but God doesn't answer!"......Possibly you haven't asked the Holy Spirit, I don't know......but I will tell you that the bible says in John3......I think shortly after Jesus tells Nicodemus that he has to be born again (of the spirit) in verse 3, that the Spirit is like the wind......you don't know where it comes from or where it is going, but you feel it and know after it has touched you....So you never know when the "spirit will hit you" :-) I do know that if you really do want to know God, the only way is through the Holy Spirit....becasue of the death of Christ.....and His resurrection.....and His releasing the Holy Spirit for us........I know, I know how this sounds......but I gotta tell ya......let me know if you want to borrow the tapes.....Myles tells it a lot better than I do. goodnight, it's late (12:30 :-/)
